These terms set out the agreement between you (the customer) and 888 Washing (we, us, our) when you book our laundry pickup, wash and fold service. By booking, you agree to these terms. Please read them before placing a booking.
1.About 888 Washing
888 Washing is a small, locally operated laundry service based in Box Hill, Victoria. We collect bags of clothing from your address, wash and dry them at our facility, fold them, and return them to your address.
2.What we wash
We wash everyday clothing only. This includes shirts, t-shirts, jeans, pants, shorts, hoodies, jumpers, casual jackets, dresses, skirts, activewear, gym clothes, socks and children's clothing.
We do not wash:
- Underwear or bras
- Silk, satin, lace or other delicate fabrics
- Wool jumpers or items requiring hand wash
- Suits, formal wear or anything labelled dry-clean only
- Sheets, towels, blankets, doonas or curtains
- Heavily soiled, contaminated or biohazardous items
If items not on our accepted list are placed in the bag, we reserve the right to either return them unwashed or, where the item presents a hygiene risk, decline service. We are not liable for any damage to non-accepted items that we wash in good faith.
3.Pricing
Our standard rate is $30 per bag. For bookings of four or more bags collected at the same time, the rate is $25 per bag.
One bag is a 60 litre bag and holds approximately 30 items of clothing. We do not weigh bags. If a bag is significantly overfilled or items will not fit comfortably, we may ask you to split the contents into an additional bag at the standard rate.
4.Bookings and timing
Bookings are made through the form on our website. We aim to confirm pickup time by text message within one hour of receiving a booking during operating hours (Monday to Saturday, 7am to 7pm).
Our standard turnaround is four days from pickup. We may take longer in unusual circumstances such as public holidays, equipment failure or sickness. If we expect a delay we will let you know.
5.Service area
We currently service the Box Hill area only. Bookings outside this area may be declined or referred elsewhere.
6.Payment
Payment is taken when we return your clean clothing. We accept cash and electronic payment. Prices include GST where applicable.
7.Liability and damage
Important. We take real care with your clothes, but laundering is not without risk. By using our service you accept that 888 Washing is not responsible for damage to clothing or for items lost during pickup, washing or delivery.
This includes, but is not limited to:
- Shrinkage, fading, stretching or other changes caused by ordinary washing and drying
- Damage caused by items left in pockets (pens, lipsticks, coins, electronics, keys, paper, tissues)
- Damage caused by hidden defects in clothing such as weak seams or perished elastic
- Loss or damage caused by incorrect care labels or labels missing from garments
- Items not on our accepted list that are placed in the bag
- Cash, jewellery, watches, electronic devices or other valuables left in clothing
- Personal items such as headphones, USB drives, ID cards or bank cards
Please remove all valuables, electronics and items from pockets before pickup. If we find a valuable item we will set it aside and contact you, but we cannot guarantee that this will always happen.
Our maximum liability for any claim relating to a single bag, regardless of the cause, is limited to a refund of the price paid for that bag.
8.Items left behind
If you leave a bag of clothing with us and do not respond to delivery attempts or messages for 30 days, the items will be considered abandoned and may be donated to charity or disposed of.
9.Cancellations
You can cancel a booking before pickup at no charge by replying to our confirmation message. If we have already collected your bag and you cancel, the standard rate applies.
10.Complaints
If you are unhappy with our service, please contact us within seven days of delivery so we can make it right. We will always try to resolve issues fairly.
11.Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. The current version always appears on this page. Your continued use of the service means you accept the latest version.
12.Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of Victoria, Australia. Any dispute will be handled by the courts of Victoria.
